Metaphors In M. Nizanov’s Short Stories: Linguistic And Literary Analysis

Abstract

This article analyzes the use of metaphors in the short stories of Karakalpak writer Muratbay Nizanov from both linguistic and literary perspectives. It focuses on the semantic, pragmatic, and stylistic functions of metaphors in his story “Jaqında qızıq boladı”. The study shows how metaphors reflect the characters' psychological states, social relationships, and deeper cultural meanings. Metaphors are presented as key tools for emotional impact, social critique, and artistic expression. The analysis highlights the richness and multifunctionality of metaphors in Nizanov’s works, emphasizing their significance for both linguistic research and literary studies.
