Abstract

The article explores the role of English language teaching in shaping and strengthening students’ professional competence. It emphasizes that English, being the global language of communication, science, media, and business, serves not only as a means of linguistic proficiency but also as a tool for developing career-oriented skills. The paper highlights methods of integrating language instruction with professional tasks, such as problem-solving, critical thinking, intercultural communication, and domain-specific terminology. It also discusses the importance of aligning English teaching with students’ future career needs, thereby fostering their adaptability in diverse professional contexts. The study concludes that purposeful English teaching significantly contributes to preparing students for the demands of the global labor market and enhancing their overall professional growth.
