TOPICAL ISSUES OF TRANSLATION STUDIES

Translation Studies is an evolving discipline that keeps abreast of language use changes, technological advancement, and international communication. A few of the most current topical issues being addressed in the latest debates in the discipline include machine translation, cultural untranslatability, translator ethics, and the role of translation in globalization. Drawing on qualitative synthesis of contemporary scholarly literature and real-world practice, the paper provides a comprehensive survey of such challenges and of how the discipline adapts to them. The study illustrates that while technology is extremely helpful, it cannot replace human intuition, especially in culturally sensitive translations.
